Measurement tools are a key part of scientific inquiry to obtain evidence to support scientific claims.
Inquiry-based science education emphasizes student-led scientific inquiry, but the lack of diverse scientific measurement tools in schools makes it difficult for students to investigate a wide range of topics.
Gaduino is a solution that utilizes Arduino and mBlock to create low-cost, easy-to-make measurement tools for scientific inquiry.
By connecting low-cost sensors to the Arduino development board, hardware can be made at a low cost, and by using mBlock, software to upload to the Arduino can be developed by block coding without the need for specialized text coding.
In this workshop, you will see a demonstration of using Gaduino to make scientific inquiry measurement devices.
In addition, technical information on related development boards and sensors will be provided so that teachers can utilize them in their classrooms.
